Earlier today DJ Snake, the master behind Turn Down For What released a new track titled Breathe (Parisian Vision). It was discovered by Do Androids Dance that DJ Snake’s track is eerily similar if not exactly similar to that of Breaux’s track Breathe (Breaux’s ‘Later Night’ Remix) which was released 4 months ago. When you listen to the tracks side by side there really wasn’t a difference between the two that I could see. But whether it is a straight up copy, we don’t know. Listen to them both for yourselves and decide.

From sources we have found out that DJ Snake did not steal the track. When the whole situation blew up on Twitter shortly ago, Mercer tweeted:
Months ago @djsnake asked me for the “Breath” stems for an edit for his sets we all play @breauxxmusic . Huge misunderstanding i guess …

Which we have learned that the stems were meant only for DJ Snake’s sets and not to be put out to the public and that the upload to Soundcloud was a mistake.

They’re both slowed down versions of mercer’s late night version of breathe by the prodigy. Saying DJ snake copied breaux is like saying that every festival trap remix is a copy of the original

These arguments are dumb. They are both legit edits. Both artists put their trap spin on an existing track. Do they sound very similar yes, but are they different, also yes. Breaux used different notes on his 808 whilst DJ Snake only used one from what I can tell. Both were edits of and existing track that was used as a base and not really altered. These arguments of stealing are just ridiculous. Isn’t any edit really “stealing?”

All sounds fine except the upload to soundcloud was not a mistake.. DJ Snake announced (and posted cover art) for this “REMIX” (his words, not mine) on his official facebook page the day before. He has since removed that pic along with the song from his soundcloud.
For a GRAMMY NOMINATED artist, it’s pretty uncommon to do all that without a simple explanation, especially when you’re being accused by a good majority of the EDM community as someone who stole another’s track and released it as their own.
And you trusted a dude called DJ Snake, Im pretty sure you’re a fool. SNAKED!
