Last night insomniacs were treated to a quiet release of Beyonce’s surprise album which suddenly popped up on iTunes at midnight. Within minutes, the internet responded and news of the album spread to all corners of the globe. Proving that promoting is unnecessary for the likes of Beyonce, sales have skyrocketed and have already made a dent in the charts. The album features 14 new tracks and 17 stunning videos which Beyonce has claimed as her first “visual album”.
Beyonce’s visual album comes at a pleasant and impressive surprise. In a press release earlier today, Beyonce explained the thinking behind her album: 
“I see music, it’s more than just what I hear. When I’m connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion, a memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies. And they’re all connected to the music.”
