Diplo adds yet another accolade to his collection, this time winning “Best Producer” at the Urban Music Awards that was held one week ago. The Mad Decent mastermind was very deserving of the award that he took home from London; 2013 has been a wonderful year for the producer who has put out a heap of original singles as well as his Revolution EP.
The UMA‘s award winners are chosen by a public voting system. Artists from not only dance music, but hip-hop, R&B and soul are represented at the show as well. Despite most public voting systems, this award show has been able to shy away from being simply a popularity contest because it is built around the idea of the underground or urban scenes. Diplo certainly isn’t underground anymore, but his appeal is directly focused at demographic. Congratulations Diplo; YourEDM wishes you a plentiful year for 2014!
