Party in Your One-Piece with the Polish Ambassador

TPAThis past weekend, the Polish Ambassador, real name David Sugalski, led a one-piece clad crowd through a grooving dance party at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver, Colorado. The conclusion of a sold-out three-night Colorado run, the show offered trippy visuals, live vocals, and plenty of danceable beats to satisfy the throngs of fans that packed into the intimate venue.

The first opener, DJ Vadim, set the mood as the audience began to filter in. Bedazzled with shiny stickers across his forehead, the DJ played an eclectic mix spanning across a wide variety of genres.

Next, out came Wildlight. A side project of TPA, the act combines Sugalski’s production with live vocals from singer Ayla Nereo. Sugalski, clad in a black onesie with gold shoulder pads, provided mellow background beats while Nereo danced around the stage, enchanting the audience with gorgeous melodies. For the last song, TPA left the stage entirely to Nereo, who created an on-the-fly song using a vocal loop system.

For the final act, Sugalski returned to the stage, this time wearing his signature neon one-piece and yellow lab goggles. As he began to weave his melodic sounds, visual artist Liminus improvised a mesmerizing display that projected on the archway above the stage. Whereas many artists stay behind the DJ booth, dancing in place and waving their arms, TPA goes all out, rivaling even the craziest of audience members. His infectious grin and ridiculous dance moves encourage the crowd to let go entirely and surrender to the music.

These various aspects came together to deliver an incredibly unique and rewarding live performance, definitely worth attending. The “Funky in Your One-Piece” tour is unfortunately almost over, but hopefully TPA will be back on tour soon. If you missed the show in your area, or if you’re just a big fan, download his entire discography for free on the Polish Ambassador website.
