ADE Coverage: Day 3 Recap & Day 4 Preview

ADE

As the Amsterdam Dance Event continues, so does our coverage. Check out what Alexandra Burton had to say below:

A star-studded night that over delivered on expectations. The homecoming leg of his Jacked tour, Afrojack entertained the crowd at Heineken Music Hall with an incredibly dynamic and entertaining set. He even divulged that “our show is the most expensive production ever in that room!” with CO2 guns, dancers, fireworks and live piano. Afrojack played new tracks from his upcoming album, including The Spark, Ten Feet Tall and even “skyped” Steve Aoki during No Beef.

Seen as helping bring the rise of EDM to America, Afrojack is producing and creating incredible music that excites the masses. He provides memorable performances that set new standards for big crowds.

Well into the midnight hours across the street from Afrojack, Calvin Harris and Tiesto played to a sold-out, and very international crowd. Opening his set with pure party songs playing hit after hit. There was no climatic moment from Calvin but rather he delivered incredible energy consistently.
Tiesto, on the other hand, took three hours to build up the energy with ingenious Trance classics. Not known for one-off hits as Harris, Dutch DJ Tiesto delivered raw sound and even took the crowd through Gabber beats. We even saw an appearance from his younger counterpart, Martin Garrix.
Day 3 was an exciting night from the top EDM (and pop) DJs – a complete variant on the electronic scene from the Day 2 underground events with Guti, Guy Gerber and Loco Dice.
Tonight with Day 4 we will be seeing more from Afrojack and his friends with his booking agency, Kings of Ace and their party, including Apster, Bassjackers, Quintino, Sydney Sampson and a full set from Martin Garrix. We expect more light shows, CO2 guns and fireworks. We have the Amsterdam Music Festival with Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, Fedde Le Grand and many more.
And last but not least, the DJ MAG TOP 100 list reveal – with two Dutchmen taking the top two places — supposedly — Hardwell and Armin van Buuren…
