Husband, Father, International DJ/Producer, winner of countless music awards and host of one of the biggest radio shows in the world, Armin Van Buuren is quite the man of the hour. His “A State Of Trance” radio show brings in a whopping 20 million listeners from 26 different countries every week. He has won the #1 spot in the popular “DJ Mag Top 100” poll 5 times and has been featured in the top 3 a total of 10 times.
Yesterday, Armada Music posted an interview they did with him on their website. They talk about things like ASOT 650, the thriving label “Who’s Afraid of 138?!”, Armin’s coming tour “Armin Only: Intense” (which you can check out here) and how Armin is taking the tour to the next level.
In what way will you take the show to a new level, in comparison to the ‘Mirage’, ‘Imagine’ and other Armin Only editions?
Armin:”I decided to involve some people from the world of theatre. This hasn’t been done in the dance music industry before, to my knowledge. I will work with one of the top 3 directors from The Netherlands, named Jos Thie. The basis of Armin Only will always be a DJ set but to make it more interesting for the crowd, I’m going to try and really make the live moments almost like you would witness them in a theatre!”
What do you think about this? Would this add a new dimension to live shows and keep it fresh? Or is it just a way to market the shows to a larger audience? We’ll just have to wait and see!
