With all of the media’s attention pointed towards the drug issues in the EDM scene, ID&T and SFX had a lot riding on its inaugural American festival TomorrowWorld. After a summer which included a death at HARD Summer in LA, overdoses at Zedd’s show at House of Blues in Boston, the tragic losses at Electric Zoo in New York, and numerous show cancellations along the east coast, the EDM industry has been under a microscope. TomorrowWorld had the odds slated against them, but they succeeded. The festival drew in 140,000 fans, and at the end of the weekend it was reported that there were zero fights, zero arrests, and 17 medical transports for many various reason. This news partnered with Tomorrowworld joining with DanceSafe shows that we are moving in the right direction!

Has anyone else read this article http://www.kissmyangeles.com/view/story/finding_molly , Kind of funny since this guy was one of the biggest molly dealers in the country and personally knows the guy that supplied tomorrowworld. The fact that the product was hidden on the grounds long before security ever got there. Kind of funny that when you take a festival and flood it with legitimate MDMA instead of designer drugs and bath salts that nothing bad happens…. I’m not saying I condone it but instead of the media pointing the finger at MDMA, they should identify the real danger which is other substances that are falsely sold as MDMA. Whats really better for the safety of people, cracking down on the drugs like MDMA so that only designer drugs or meth make it to these kids, or allowing pure MDMA to make it to these kids which has been proven countless times to be extremely low risk contrary to how the media is painting the picture (you are 1000 times more likely to OD on alcohol than mdma). If history has shown us anything it’s that cracking down and prohibition does nothing to stop kids and people from taking drugs and only increases health risks because the drugs that make it to people are dirtier and dirtier.
