A few months ago, 3LAU released his first original production on Revealed Recordings, “Escape”, a collaboration with Paris & Simo featuring vocal support from Bright Lights. Despite receiving some negative feedback for sounding eerily similar to Dirty South and Michael Brun‘s “Rift”, “Escape” was a monumental stepping stone for Justin Blau, signifying the beginning of his transition from mashups to original productions. While the original had a rather generic house sound, Faraway Skies, a duo hailing from Houston, Texas, recently released their rendition of “Escape”, and I don’t think I could have been any more content with the result. Supporting Bright Light‘s alluring vocals with an infectiously uplifting melody, Faraway Skies‘ remix gently builds and drops into an absolutely stunning liquid drum and bass record.
