One of Amsterdam’s best kept secrets is at it again. The much accredited producer, RAM, is back with another addition to his incredible RAM production series. For those who don’t know, his breakout track of RAMstrdam in 2009 was universally acclaimed by hot names such as Above & Beyond, Aly & Fila, John O’Callaghan, Sean Tyas & Simon Patterson and was played an astonishing four times on Armin van Buuren‘s A State Of Trance radio show. It was even said that Armin picked RAMsterdam as the track of the year of 2009, which can be considered a milestone accomplishment for many producers. This has culminated in the series of RAM productions, with future tunes humorously entitled RAMazing, RAMplify, and RAMbition. However, the next tune within the series is no joke and the level of quality is some of the best work that RAM has ever accomplished. While taking a break from the series with singles such as Smash & Crash, Disko and a brilliant collaboration with Alex M.O.R.P.H. entitled Grotesque, RAM returns with the highly emotional uplifter of RAMnesia. Full of top class orchestral Trance and heartfelt melodies, it is a track that goes above and beyond many Trance productions heard today.

Beginning with impeccable drive and clean, clear production, RAMnesia consists of simplistic basslines, energetic percussion and aurally engaging synth ostinatos wrapped within one complete package. While the beginning is on par for many other productions, it is the gorgeous breakdown that really propels the track’s quality to brand new levels of quality. Somber strings bring much needed musical direction as the impressive chord changes really bring out some marvelous and innovative theory possibilities. The addition of multiple choirs and cinematic tribal drum in the next section completely revolutionize the piece to a whole new level of musical expertise rarely seen in many trance producers today. Returning to the purities of Trance, an emerging melodic synth line brings the beauty of the orchestral breakdown to the realms of electronic music. Full, immense sound textures are revealed through angelic melodies that overflow with feelings of optimism and promises of a brighter future ahead of us. As increasing basskicks push past the declining soundscape, it explodes into a vast world of tremendous emotional power through endorphin engaging melodies and fantastic harmonic accompaniment to help push things along. Combining the signature sound of Armada with elements of true orchestral is nothing short of stellar and is a brilliant addition to the RAM family of productions.
