Music Piracy In The UK Down By A Third

piracy

It was recently reported that music piracy, the act of downloading music illegally has dropped by a third in the UK. In research that was published Wednesday by Ofcom it shows that one in six people in the UK have illegally streamed music or downloaded tracks illegally. The numbers have gone down from 301 million to 199 million from last March to this March. Due to the rise of legal streaming programs, such as Spotify, Pandora and Rdio the drop in piracy has happened for the first time since the CD era. Music piracy really is an issue, yes we all love to listen to music, and yes money is not unlimited, but the DJs we so love and listen to on a daily basis, spend so much of their lives into making music that we can enjoy. They deserve our support.
