At the age of 17 Dutch whiz kid Martin Garrix is the youngest artist to hold consecutive weeks at #1 on Beatport, and in less than three months his record ‘Animals’ has reached Gold Status in Belgium. Yesterday Spinnin’ Records presented Martin with the award, recognizing the single sales in excess of 15,000 throughout the country. This is likely the beginning of awards for ‘Animals’, as the the track was played globally at festivals and clubs throughout the summer, and supported by many notable artists. Need a refresher?
