Mainstream strikes again! Kill Paris will join the growing list of esteemed DJ’s who have been removed from the decks due to their musical selection. This past week, Kill Paris was kicked off the decks at the M Nightclub in Honolulu, Hawaii for “not playing mainstream music” according to his twitter account. Although this isn’t the first time a DJ has been kicked off the stage, it astounds me that it is a reoccurring theme. Why book the artist if you aren’t going to let them play their style of music? shaking my damn head.
Got kicked off the stage at m nightclub tonight for not playing mainstream shit

a standard industry blacklist of clubs that do that should exist. zero tolerance. a professional should not have to deal with whether the fickle opinions of hipsters in the club could get him kicked of stage. never go back.
Club owners need to start buying a jukebox insteed!
Pathetic M…Pathetic
seriously?
Rent a jukebox.
Bullshit.
The M in M Nightclub stands for Mainstream.

Shoulda played one of the many other clubs here that would have embraced an artist at work

I was at the event last night and it was complete garbage. He was absolutely killing it and they all of a sudden he said he had to stop playing. It wasn’t promoted as a rave but more of a normal club night so the crowd that was mostly there didn’t know what they got to experience so many of them left while he played. The few of us that were there loved him and all messaged him after he left and let him knew how good he was.
Kill Paris is a producer. He makes original songs. When you book an original artist they should be able to play their songs and others that they like. The club was at fault on this one for not promoting him correctly and bringing in the wrong crowd. HOWEVER, if he was JUST a DJ (only plays other peoples music) then he would have been a shit DJ for not playing what the crowd wanted. DJs play what the crowd wants to hear. Producers play their own shit.
what a damn shame.
“F*^k your format.”
