Yes you read that right. It seems the electronic music space race is heating up. Just a couple months ago Armin van Buuren announced he would be heading into space, now Afrojack says he will do likewise. It seems he might even bring a few lucky fans along for the journey. Afrojack says he wants to “do something that’s never been done before.” It will definitely be interesting to see if the Dutchman can pull off this outer space performance and which fans, if any, get to join him.
UPDATE: Looks like that original story published on Billboard stemmed from a fake press release. Afrojack’s team reached out to Mixmag, who reported that the story is in fact false.

Has anyone ever told him their is no sound in space?
God damn, whatever drugs this gentleman has consumed.. they will soon bring disaster into our world.
Imagine telling your mum, “I’m going to space for a concert” :/ Next thing we see, NASA Rockets flying above like an Alien Invasion.. Drop it Afrojack. I may be stoned right now but from what I just saw, I’m not doing thaaat bad.
@frank cinfio. You’re in outer space… that alone does not require drugs to enjoy it. Go back into the hole where you came from.
they even have molly there?
I want to go
This is why aliens won’t talk to us!
This is why we can’t have nice things.

The amount of training required to do it is going to require a LOT of time just to get used to how much force is required to move your own arm/finger a specific distance. See this video by Chris Hadfield on re-learning how to play guitar in space. If any DJ pulls a sweet set from space without spending weeks up there, we’ll all know it was pre-recorded and they are just being an asshole haha :). Awarding them the title of, “First DJ to press the Play button in space, EVER”
