Armada, Google, Point Blank Music School and DJ Mag have collaborated to launch the “Academy of Electronic Music”. The aim of the website is to connect “music makers all around the globe, finding and developing the next generation of superstar DJ’s and producers, all via a fully social music school.” The Academy will bridge the gaps between producers, labels and fans creating a complete electronic music community. It will be a “socially-driven” school where up and coming producers can “get feedback from peers, industry experts and their favorite DJs and producers, plus the chance to be mentored as the world’s next superstar producer.”
Today marks the official launch of the site. On October 19th, during Amsterdam Dance Event, Armada Music will announce the 7 talents selected to be a part of the Academy of Electronic Music’s class of 2013. Two days later, on October 21st, the Academy will begin as the 7 budding producers will begin their lessons via Google Hangout. These sessions will be broadcast to the public so that everyone can benefit from the industry experts’ knowledge. You can check out the site HERE.
As awesome as it sounds, it’s going to be as much of a crowded circlejerk as soundcloud.
*up coming * – #grammarnazi – great news though
Kind of like SectionZ? I can’t wait for the relaunch of the Z… It’s bigger then EDM.
