Pictures from the morning after the Reading Festival have surfaced and has left us completely blown away. The venue for the festival, as featured above, was left completely trashed leaving weeks worth of cleaning up which is to start immediately. Officials told the DailyMail that due to to the low cost of tents and other camping supplies in Argos, festival goers were simply calculating the gear into their expenses and not bothering to take it home with them.
The clean up crew will be salvaging what they can from the debris to be sent to various different charities. Sure to be a vast project, let this be a reminder to be responsible for your trash at your next festival. You can check out more pictures (HERE)
This is why we don’t have nice things.
this is embarassing for the entire edm scene. with how much mainstream media allready hates us, we should not be doing unprofessionl things like this. I’m in shock.
Fucking piece of shit festival goers. how low can you go?
Its not even an EDM event. I know this doesn’t discredit how shitty this is but I’m just saying.
gay festival kids.
If part of the festival’s culture emphasizes “leave no trace,” this might be less likely to happen. Burning Man and Lightning in a Bottle have proven it works, other festivals and event production companies should follow suit.
oh my god….I don’t know what to think.
so not plur.
At the risk of being a bit controversial, as long as the festival providers pay for cleaners to fully clean up the place after the festival, I don’t see that much of a problem. It would certainly bring more jobs to the local area. I would be concerned if the rubbish was getting into the river though or people were polluting the soil with chemicals etc. If it’s just general rubbish, it can be picked up surely?
When you’re dealing with that many (drunk and on god knows what) people in an enclosed space, it’s going to be hard to manage waste disposal.
this is disgusting that a festival grounds would look like this at the end of the festival. people leaving it like this should if caught be denied entry the next year, but at least this brings paying work to wherever the festival took place.
