You can now add one time Disney star Hilary Duff to the long list of mainstream artists attempting to join in on the EDMapalooza . In a recent sponsored twitter Q&A session organized by the Idolator, Hilary Duff answered to a series of questions, one in particular that caught a lot of people’s eyes. Earlier this month Hilary announced that she was going back to the studio and so when asked about her upcoming album she answered with:
@idolator@KidrauhlsFredoo no just kidding!!! i’m super into EDM. definitely catchy hooks i’ve always cared alot abt lyrics & love 2 dance!

After Selena Gomez’s Baby Dubstep album, Hilary Duff will be the next Disney wunder kid to unleash an EDM influenced album unto the masses. Hopefully she either knows more about it than its “catchy hooks” or she hired a “talented” producer. We’re betting on the latter. Afrojack or David Guetta maybe?

This makes a little more sense to me then Selena Gomez doing it. Her last album was much more “dance pop” then any of her other releases prior. Like Rihanna’s gradual move towards electronic sounds, this seems like a normal yet commercialized move for her pop music.
Hopefully she doesn’t fail.
EDM is fucked now. All these pop fags are trying to leech onto another genre they think its ‘totes cool’ because pop these days has gone to shit.Which is what will happen to EDM if this keeps going on. If theyre so FAMOUS why don’t they use their ‘talent’ and come up with something original, instead of paying an artist to make tracks for them and then ruin those tracks by slapping their screeching vocals on top of it to barf out a bullshit track -_-
I listened to some of Selena Gomez’s album and it was pretty shitty IMO, but I have more faith in better singers so.
Meh, it’s a free country, especially when it comes to commercial sales. That means that these once-famous once-teenyboppers can crank out some bubblegum techno for their decidedly homogenized fan base. I’ll just keep listening to actual DJs and EDM groups and wait for this trend to blow over.
david guetta? I thought you said a producer! :p
They will never ever be able to get into the scene as a respected genuine EDM Artist. especially coming from the pop world.
