Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike & Moguai – Mammoth (Heroes & Villians Vs. Carnage Remix)

mammoth_YourEDM

Just yesterday I wrote a review of Oh Snap!!‘s remix of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mikes‘ track “Madness” and commented on the evolution that we’ve seen in trap as a genre as the general populous of EDM has shifted to a more “Big Room” sound. Well, here I am today with further evidence to prove my point. Carnage, one of the founding fathers of festival trap (whether he wants to admit it or not) is back again with trap duo Heroes & Villians to transform Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike and Moguai‘s record “Mammoth” into the next trap sensation. Unfortunately, in my opinion, this remix leaves a lot to be desired. In particular with this remix, the so-called “festival” sound translates to inflated, blaring synths, claps, whistles, bangs and that oh so lovable big room kick which is slightly diluted by a swelling progressive lead and bridge. I’m sure this track destroys dance floors when dropped mid-set in a traphouse but personally I just can’t imagine electing to listen to this on my own accord. Despite my personal feelings, stream the track below and if you feel so inclined purchase your own copy on Beatport.
