A video has surfaced of Paris Hilton‘s opening party at Amnesia Ibiza and believe me, it’s about as game-changing as you would expect – Not at all. Hats off to her though, her transition from Mat Zo and Porter Robinson‘s Easy into Rattle was perhaps the biggest affront to two song mixing in the history of DJs. I guarantee you that I, or most any half respectable DJ could easily top that on traktor iOS with one finger and both eyes closed. It’s that bad.
Thankfully the video I saw only lasted 3 minutes, although judging by the crowd who mostly had their hands up to take videos of the spectacle, there will be plenty more out there soon. So, for my own good I’m going to self-induce Amnesia and forget about this whole thing.

Yup, they stop dancing and start talking…
A truly great dj has the people dancing so hard, they don’t have time to pull out their cell phones, talk or…pretty much anything else. Why do you ask? Because that dj is too busy ACTUALLY doing his/her job, so the crowd feels it, not to mention also feels the ultimate passion of the dj from the presentation one portrays on stage. (or in a dj booth).
In the meantime, we need to stop giving power to the talentless pretty people of the world and start focusing on the people and things that matter.

For me its not the fact that she is not a skilled DJ. Its the way that she was able to get into a venue like that. Artists like me might never ever play to a crowd like that, and if I wanted to try I would have to bust my ass to get to that level. Even then I might not do it. All she had to do was be herself. That in itself is the problem. So many more talented people deserve to be on that stage. People who pull long day job hours to then go home and practice; go out to meet people in their local seen to try and get a gig. So they in turn get more gigs; more recognition in the hopes to play at a place like this. People who hustle, and make their own music, will probably never get a chance to play at such a venue. Not her. Not a single finger of hers was ever lifted to put all that work in, yet she is made famous because of one thing. Society. If nobody paid attention to her then none of this would have happened. If everyone wanted to make a statement to show her that nobody gets a free ride; don’t pack the fucking club. Meaning to go and spend your money on this. Simple.

what exactly is she doing wrong? edm is popular, I’m sure her business manager is extremely smart to have her jump on the EDM bandwagon. can you honestly tell me in a huge crowd all the way in the back at a festival you can tell who’s on stage without looking at your set time cheat sheet? if you don’t want to support her, don’t buy her “music” don’t support her label, don’t go to her shows. don’t bash her for making smart business decisions.
