Just days ago, Verve Recordings, known for introducing their inventive and seemingly unparalled soul and jazz records in the 50’s, released their latest compilation Verve Remixed: The First Ladies. Featuring artists such as Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, RAC, Kaskade and more, the compilation presents some of the most monumental hits under the label’s umbrella in a very new light. One of our favorites of the album is Flume‘s remix of Marlena Shaw‘s “Woman of the Ghetto”. Injecting in a healthy allotment of pulsing bass, Flume jacks up the energy and flips the original on its head to once again display his true versatility and creative vision as a producer. Stream the Aussie’s latest remix below and check out the rest of the compilation here!
