Rob Swire, of Knife Party and Pendulum, announced on his Twitter earlier that he will be taking a six month hiatus from live performances in order to focus on writing music. This announcement was coupled with several others relaying Swire‘s opinions on the industry. Stating that musical production has become a side-note in the industry, he voiced his displeasure at the current focus of the industry. The Australian also noted that he no longer has time to write music due to his busy live schedule and that the time off will be spent producing.
So, it seems that we most likely won’t be seeing much of Knife Party in the coming months, which is unfortunate news to a degree. But on the other hand we can definitely expect upcoming releases. Read his tweets below and let us whether you are excited or disappointed by his decision.
Good for him. Seems like he has better values in EDM than most producers out there. The fans may bitch and moan, but those who respect the art will appreciate it.
I’m all for this. Hopefully Knife Party can help get EDM out of it’s mainstream gutter.
Rob Swire is such a G!
Why did you guys photoshop his eyebrows away?
lol where are his eyebrows hahaahah.
Respect for the man a pure genious not a sell out bitch from society he shows the love he has for producing music most producers like to d shows and dont give a fuck about creating music where is thw pleasure of beeinf a muscician if you havn’ not even a month to produce then what is the point of beeing called a musician anymore? !! Music has gone to state where people prefer gaining money than making music that comes from the heart Good for you Rob you deserve that break;)
Funny because he’s easily one of the most talented producers and he sees things for what they are, it’s about the music. We don’t sit in traffic listening to the same song over and over, we love new stuff. Rob Swire and Deadmau5 get it.
disappointed that swire became sick of pendulum why not take in that 6 months some time to write some new tunes for pendulum to perform or at least get the whole gang to pitch in on a knife party release I know you are all busy swire kj gareth and the other/s but remember what you started and accomplished with the biggest drum and bass act EVER!
I love that rob swire is at the top the the game, and has this attitude. inspiring stuff
What about hard fest there the headliners
Right thinking. Good stuff, Rob.

I think Knife Party last performance LIVE until they take out new music, is going to be on EDC:PR.
Bring back Pendulum!
