Top 5 Sets From Electric Daisy Carnival

IMG_0448

I must admit that this was quite a tough article to tackle. Narrowing down sets from a weekend of electronic music’s top talent is no easy task. Keep in mind that I have ruled out sets that are not available on the internet. Trust me, I would love to post Crizzly’s set of utter insanity or Pete Tong’s brilliant and clubby house session at Neon Garden. Anyway, on with the sets. It is my hope that this article will help guide you through the sea of live sets. Keep in mind that these are not in any particular order.

Clockwork had a killer set full of bootlegs, mashups, genre changes and plenty of “oh shit!” moments. From the dirty melbourne house bass to festival anthems to a few appearances from his other alias, RL Grime, Clockwork absolutely nailed it with this set.

Umek played main stage along with other techno and tech house artists Sunday. Firstly, it was nice to see tech house in the limelight for once. Secondly, it was awesome to see Umek pretty much clobber main stage, sending the crowd into a dancing frenzy. Listening to this set while standing still is practically a sin.

Zeds Dead took the on crowd on one hell of a musical ride. They came up to the decks with one mission, to absolutely demolish EDC, and I would say they succeeded.

Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano went off at EDC, exploding main stage with their tribal house beats. These guys proved, yet again, that DJing is an art, and one that they have mastered.

Armin van Buuren finally found the perfect medium between house and trance. His set was massive, bringing the crowd alive with big room trance, tracks from his Intense album and so much more!
