Was Random Access Memories not everything you hoped it to be? Was it too boring? Or are you sick to death of it by now? Never fear, for Daft Punk themselves have even announced plans to release their own remixed version of RAM. In the meantime, you can enjoy other peoples’ remixes of the album at your pleasure! Darkside (a project compromising of Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington) have just released an interesting remix of the album. It dabbles in 8-bit mashups, noisy heavy metal and stripped back vocals which puts focus on the instrumentals. However the remix is clever enough that it still retains the soul and funk of the original. Darkside’s reworking of RAM radiates sensual ambient vibes and it’s perfect to chill out to. Overall the remix is a cerebral listening and leaves us excited for what the robots themselves have in store for a remix.
