The House of Blues Chicago is both a classic music hall and landmark for the city of Chicago. The capacity is roughly 1,500 people with a dance floor as well as four stories of balconies. The venue itself is not normally used to host EDM shows, but during the weekend of Spring Awakening Music Festival any open venue has a EDM show. With floor tickets selling out almost immediately for the iconic group Zeds Dead, you could only expect an unbelievable show.
The show kicked off with the winner of Spring Awakening’s DJ contest Alex S. who showed that he had a very wide arsenal under his belt, ranging from hard-style to trouse. Afterwards a Chicago favorite Zebo came on stage and took the crowd up a notch with an unbelievable Trap set which not many people expected, getting the crowd in the dancing groove.
As Zebo finished his set the crowd was well ready for Salva the young up and comer to the EDM scene showing the Chicago crowd that Salva Beats is something big to watch for in the future.
Around 1:30 am, the moment everyone anticipated the entire night finally arrived, the dynamic duo of Zeds Dead came on stage and took the historic House of Blues to an entire different level, with ground shaking bass and incredible light. Dropping classics such as Rude Boy, Bassmentality, Cowboy and fan favorite Ratchet. The duo put on an absolutely amazing hour and a half set that had the crowd begging for more, while closing at 3:00 am. This show had everyone dancing non stop, while instilling so much anticipation for the final day of Spring Awakening the following day.
