I’ve seen a lot of internet in my day, I mean a lot, and thanks to this I’ve seen some pretty WTF things in my short life. That being said, Major Lazer‘s video for Bubble Butt ft. Bruno Mars, 2 Chainz, Tyga, and Mystic has truly topped my personal chart of “Weirdest Thing I’ve Seen This Week”.
Seriously though, I already associate anything Diplo related with a gratuitous amount of ass-shaking, but Bubble Butt takes it to the next level. I suppose, with a name like Bubble Butt, I really shouldn’t be surprised, but then again I didn’t really know what I expected… I definitely didn’t expect to see air hoses inflate girls’ booties Japanese ‘tentacle porn style,’ but lo and behold, that’s what I got.
I would say that 95% of the video is comprised of pure unadulterated twerk, which for Major Lazer is pretty expected. However, it’s the bizarre coloring, disembodied head disco balls, and weird surreal sexualization made this video truly… I’m not sure how to put it… Interesting, maybe? This video is somewhat strange even by director Eric Warheim‘s standards. Watch for yourself below, but be warned it is definitely NSFW.
