David Guetta Goes Gold For “Nothing But The Beat”

guetta-live-three

Zedd wasn’t the only one to secure Gold today; David Guetta also went gold when his album, Nothing But The Beat, passed the 500,000 sales mark in the United States. Being released in 2011, Nothing But The Beat has taken over twice the time to reach gold as Zedd’s Clarity.

With only 7 electronic albums reaching Gold in the last 20 years, It is still an impressive mile stone. When asked about his album reaching Gold, Guetta responded:

“I’m so honored that my album has gone gold in the U.S. and so thankful to all the fans that have supported me and dance music in general.  Together we have created the biggest movement and community in music around the world and it is amazing!”

As EDM continues to grow, this is surely just the beginning of electronic music’s invasion into the Gold album status. If David Guetta’s mediocre album could do it, then the possibilities for more EDM albums going Gold is endless.
