Police Arrest 61 at Swiss Electronic Music Parade

Jugend-fordert-Mehr-Freiraum

A few days ago, in the city of Bern, Switzerland, the third annual “Tanz Dich Frei” Parade took place. “Tanz Dich Frei” translates to Dance Yourself Free (thank you Google translate) and consists of electronic music lovers who parade through the streets of Bern blasting music. This year “Tanz Dich Frei” drew about 10,000 people who peacefully partied in the streets of Bern.

However, as the party dragged into the night some of the attendees clashed with police creating an estimated $100,000 in damage. 61 people were arrested. The organizers have stated that the “rioters” were merely acting in self-defense:

The state made its intentions clear. The protection of parliament was more important than that of thousands of people.

Check out the videos below to see what “Tanz Dich Frei” looked like during the day, then during the clashes at night.
