Here we go again, after Forbes’ highly controversial list of the world’s highest paid DJs of 2012, it is now time for celebrity net worth to tackle the taboo topic. While both Forbes and Celebrity Net Worth’s list do include the same names, their order vary greatly. While Forbes’ list could be deemed more of a marketing coup, as they focused solely on the most common names in the scene, Celebrity Net Worth’s list appears to contain a speck more of realism. Unsurprisingly Tiesto comes at the very top, the name brand value mainly contributing to his worth. As a matter of fact, we can attribute that reasoning to the entire list. Ultimately, the true talent of the DJ/Producer can only get them so far, as we see the sorts as Eric Prydz and Mark Knight capping around $3-4 million, where as Avicii and DJ Pauly D pass well over $10 million. I am by no means devaluing Armin Van Buuren or Paul Van Dyk’s talent, just that much of their worth is inflated by the monetary potential of the brand they represent. he spends it on stuff like his house, and he is building something along the lines of a producer collective in LA i think, where basically owsla artists and people who want to work with them basically all can come to this big area and just work and hang out together, which i believe he is footing the bill for himself. he is using all this money to keep his team well fed and cared for, to arrange more tours, to be able to set up a studio for more music releases, to keep his label alive so he can find more talent everday. Digweed, Best DJ in the World by a large margin. IMHO. I used to go to Twilo monthly back in the day. This Summer he just started his Pacha Residency “Insane” Huge year for Diggers. Guy is a perfectionist. I’ve seen him spin many many times and hung out with him and Sasha. Sasha used to get blased in the VIP lounge at Twilo. Diggers was ALWAYS Sober. “Vortex” Diggers head down mode is something every EDM fan should experience.

Pretend DJs like Pauly D on here pretty much blows the list’s credibility. Someone already famous (for already questionable merits) touring with a bunch of CDs doing embarassingly bad sets to crowds who don’t know any better doesn’t make a DJ. You may as well ask Bill Gates to buy a pair of CDJs and call him the world’s richest DJ. He’d probably have at least as much credibility and talent.
