Fresh off of their remarkable 10 year anniversary, Size Records continues to decimate dance floors with their brand of high velocity Progressive House releases, including Liceu, Hit It! and Champs. And it seems as though nothing will stop label manager Steve Angello from releasing some of the biggest tracks to festivals around the world. Angello follows up the single Boom with a remix pack of his sensational collaboration with AN21 & Max Vangeli on H8RS. This time, it is the dynamic duo of Kryder & Tom Staar to take the reins of the track with their unique style of Progressive House. These two have been a very interesting duo from the start, with their remixes to Swedish House Mafia‘s Don’t You Worry Child and Depeche Mode‘s Enjoy The Silence creating a very subdued, yet highly effective sound that is cool and confident, yet deadly when heard live. Already spun by both Steve Angello and AN21 & Max Vangeli during their sets at EDC New York 2013, it has proven to be a deadly weapon for any show or festival.

Kryder & Tom Staar has managed to not fall into the pit of many producers who focus on the current EDM trend of maximalism. Rather than choose gritty Electro lines and big, swelling bass kicks, both take their sound as a modernization of Progressive House during the transitional period of 2011-2012, before its explosion into America. And that in turn has given a new breath of life to the inherent staleness that some are noticing in the wake of 2013. Kryder & Tom Staar completely throw any kind of Electro out of the equation and instead opt for a highly layered Big Room synth. The melody storms along with never-ending eighth notes, but it still has an incessant groove; an interesting combination that makes this track stand out. While H8RS is indeed a piece that would be best used in a festival, it brings along a Techy feel with blippy synths and crisp percussion, (which is a huge plus in our book). Maybe this release shows signs of a change in sound for Size in 2013 and also for post Swedish House Mafia member, Steve Angello. Kryder & Tom Staar‘s remix of Steve Angello vs. AN21 & Max Vangeli’s H8RS will be out soon on Size Records, so remember to keep it locked to Your EDM for any future news.

Keep the music alive. -Q
