Superstar DJ Fatboy Slim, aka Norman Cook has given his highest praises to French legends Daft Punk for their highly anticipated upcoming album Random Access Memories. Speaking to the Daily Star, Norman shared his thoughts on the French duo and the magnitude of their upcoming release:
“I’m so impressed by them. It’s a breath of fresh old school air. The EDM thing has become a collection of huge noises that sound the same and are a bit bland. I’m glad Daft Punk have given us all a kick up the arse. They are so simple and melodic. They’re the last great dance music supergroup you’ll hear.”
Fatboy Slim seems clearly impressed by Random Access Memories, so much so that he will be reportedly be putting off work on his own album! Come May 20th the general public will be able to experience this “kick” for themselves when Random Access Memories drops.
well let’s just say that he had to praise them like he should! *badum tssss*

Really? That’s your Weapon of Choice?
i want you to meet me right here right now.
Kevin Furlong well you must be fucking in heaven!
I might only be 17 but I love the old school sounds and wish I could of raved with the OGs back in the early 90’s.
But you’re not from Brighton. Boo. At least everyone loves a carnival so don’t let the man get you down okay?
daft punk was right, “we’re up on next to get lucky” we’re lucky becuase we get to see probably the greatest moment in edm history unfold in front of our eyes….. daft punk are robot gods!
Way to push the tempo on that one.
So the greatest moment in EDM history will be taking the E out of the equation? (And I don’t mean Ecstasy…)
People are so quick to believe the media hype.
So Mr. Cook is putting off work on his own album… is he planning on following suit with a more organic, live sound like Daft Punk’s? Who else is going to jump on this retro-disco-funk bandwagon?
Skream already has… only playin disco records now. I think you’re off base about taking the “e” out… music has been electronic since they amped up the first electric guitar. I understand where the older EDM artists/fans are coming from b/c I’m sick of the same farty bassline and rhodes chords too. Sampling is at the heart of this art and that’s been lost in the sauce. If you make the track entirely using MIDI VSTs it ends up sounding pretty cheesy and soulless.
Also, Fatboyslim and Daft Punk aren’t jumpingo n any bandwagons because they pioneered that genre and stayed true to their sound through all these years.
hallelujah
I love these comments lol 🙂 nice ones

Yes, Skream and Benga saw the effect that the american boom of dubstep or brostep whatever messed the genre up…you dont hear it much anymore, just trap music now. Skream is doing real well playing his deep/garage house
