The 8th Note has been making a splash, with releases on labels like Cr2 Records and Dim Mak adding to their already-extensive dicography. Now the Israeli trio is ready for the next step–being featured on Lazy Rich’s noted label Big Fish Recordings. The label has released The 8th Note’s newest work: the Ace EP. This impressive two-track EP cuts a heavy electro groove, while featuring some progressive house elements that add both melody and emotion to their work.
The first track, Midnight Snack, is definitely the more high-powered track of the two. A beautiful introductory progression quickly builds to a massive electro groove, as a thunderous bassline, clap hits, and rising leads all add to the atmosphere. The main breakdown adds some high-end synth work and melodic leads to the progression, as the entire arrangement builds to a fever pitch before returning back to earth for one final drop. The final segment is the most furious of all, with some heavy leads making their presence known.

The second track, Ace, begins with a simple groove before ascending up to a beautiful progression–aided by a grand piano and the ever-present synth lead. This soon builds up to the first drop, where once again, a tremendously heavy bassline gives the track a signature groove. Additional percussion accentuates the groove and gives the track a rhythmic atmosphere. The final breakdown once again turns the attention to the melody, as the grand piano and synth leads function beautifully with one another. Further on, the final build-up and drop serve as the perfect endpoint for the track.
