If Ultra didn’t completely fill your persciption of house, then you’re gonna love Toolroom’s latest Selector Series, featuring the one and only Marco Lys on the decks. He’s been doing it forever, collaborating along the way with amazing artists like Prok & Fitch and Chris lake, and has proven his ability to blend in with any style of dance music. This compilation features some spicy originals from house favorites Alex Kenji, Federico Scavo, as well as Lys himself with “Walk On Fire”, one of my favorite songs from the album. Amidst these big names, he even delved further in the annals of house, displaying classics like Dave Spoon’s “Background Noise” as well remixes of Pete Tong’s “Wardance” and ATFC’s “Bad Weed”. To top it off, Mark Knight’s “Drug Music” provides a satisfying close to this dance-friendly house compilation.
