Avicii furthers his poor health streak, as we just learned the Swedish star had to cancel his appearances at his Sunburn Arena India tour in Mumbai and Delhi on April 6 and 7. Sunburn released an official statement on the matter:
“It is with deep regret we have to inform you of the cancellation of ‘Sunburn Arena Avicii India tour’ in Mumbai and Delhi.
“Unfortunately Avicii has been facing health issues recently and has been forced to take rest until he is once again healthy to perform and travel until further notice.
“We are in talks with the management to monitor his health condition and wish him a full and speedy recovery. We will work with the management to reschedule the dates later this year. We appreciate your understanding and our thoughts and well wishes are with Avicii who is extremely disappointed to cancel his visit to India.”
Earlier this month, Avicii also had to be hospitalized in Brisbane, Australia, for acute pancreatitis. Pancreatitis is often related to alcohol abuse, an issue the producer and DJ has already discussed repeatedly, stating that he has been trying to reduce his alcohol intake throughout the past few months. Back in February, in an interview with inthemix, Avicii said the following:
“I was drinking a whole lot more and I was going to after-parties and just generally not being very professional”
“But my body just couldn’t take it and I ended up in the hospital at the beginning of last year, like a year ago, really because of drinking.”
At this point it is unclear whether the artist will have to cancel more upcoming shows.
On behalf of the entire Your EDM team, we wish Tim Bergling a speedy recovery.
Wish him well, Pancreatitis is very dangerous condition.
Oh god, get better soon dude
Hopefully he comes to Dubai later this year. I was too excited for this event!!
