It’s finally official, after months of rumors, Deadmau5 will leave Wynn’s XS to join Tiesto, Calvin Harris and Steve Aoki at both the MGM Grand’s WET REPUBLIC and the new 5 story Hakkasan. Just recently renovated, costing in the upwards of $100 million, this mega club is set to host a DJ line up as, if not more, impressive than Light, only time will tell of course but with names such as Tiesto and Deadmau5 on the roster, one can only wonder.
What is even more impressive are the contracts for such artists. Deadmau5 will get paid $425,000 per show, that’s right…PER show. Tiesto is slated to make a still impressive $250,000. With such numbers it does seem that those behind Hakkasan truly want to take over the Las Vegas club scene.
Joel Zimmerman had this to say about the move:
“With all the projects I have going on right now, I’m so excited to be back in Vegas doing what I love to do best”
Hmmm….
Doing what he loves. Making money
How can this be a bad thing? Joel is nothing more then a prodigy and deserves everything he has but into his own music career from day 1.
Companies that have deep pockets will pay vast sums to those whom they only know as big names.. that is all because they in essence have no idea of the grass roots..or what the club scene is all about and those accepting such residencies are milking it for all it’s worth while it lasts…
if you were in his shoes you’d take that fucking gig and ask for more.
