It brought a smile to my face seeing Datsik’s Firepower Records announce to the world a release from none other than rising trap duo Mayhem & Antiserum. Mayhem, Atlanta based producer gaining much recognition for his new southern rap/dubstep movement, teamed up with west coast bass music extraordinaire Antiserum, to bring us their new trap anthems “Bangladesh” and “Trippy”.
I was blown away by how Mayhem & Antiserum perfectly incorporated such extremely different sounds together in their new tune “Bangladesh”, ranging from the unique middle-eastern influenced vocals to dirty 808 kicks and snares. “Trippy” is a heavy hitting trap original that truly stands out on its own. The hip-hop infused synths that take you through the intro and break down reminded me of the dirty, yet atmospheric sound of Kid Cudi and Wiz Khalifa. Neither track off this EP comes down from the high energy, big room feel that it gives off; a vibe that I constantly get when listening to Mayhem & Antiserum.
The duo has really found a signature sound of their own and it is shining bright in both the tracks off this EP. Be sure to grab your copy of the “Bangladesh” / “Trippy” EP at Beatport or download it for free below!
