There are innumerable events taking place in Austin for this year’s SXSW, but one that will surely prove to be unforgettable will be a once-in-a-lifetime b2b set between deadmau5 and Richie Hawtin. Both of these acts, although on different ends of the dance spectrum, are extremely influential in their respective communities and pitting them together could only lead to greatness. The two are said to be preparing a “stripped-back techno” set, something more characteristically Hawtin than mau5 especially as of late. The two will also be holding a panel earlier in the day and will be discussing electronic music, technology, and who knows what else. The event will take place Tuesday, March 12th at Stubb’s BBQ. The event isn’t open to the public though, only those with Gold, Platinum, and Interactive badges will be admitted.
