Welcome to You Might Have Missed, my weekly segment where I’ll be taking things back down memory lane and highlighting older songs that a lot of people either missed, forgot or overlooked. All of these tracks hold some type of special meaning to me, and I hope that you will find them enjoyable too. Let’s get started:
We haven’t had enough complextro on the site recently, so here’s a fantastic track by Florida-based DallasK that hopefully will remedy the situation. First released in July of 2011 on Burn the Fire Records, DallasK‘s Front/Back was a club destroyer for quite some time. Dallas pumped out a few awesome tracks in the months following this as well, but he’s been pretty quiet as of late aside from a few gigs – so hopefully he’s hard at work in the studio. The vocal sample plus the ground shaking drop make this the perfect peak-time club track.

Next up, we have a massively funky track from Belgium-based brothers Electric Soulside. Also released on Burn the Fire Records, Moon Roller has funk running through its veins. Their use of an electric guitar-style synth and disco undertones make this one an all-time favorite. This one was released back in November of 2010 but it sounds just as great today as it did then.

Last but not least, we have Hey Today!‘s remix of Tiga‘s You Gonna Want Me. I actually still remember how I found this track – I was watching some recap videos of Hard Summer 2010 back that year after the event and came across this video of Erol Alkan dropping this track, which at the time was unreleased. This is still one of the most original and energetic remixes I’ve ever heard. Although not in the big room style, this track could work a crowd harder than most of today’s big room tracks.
