Diamond Dealer, a South African DJ/producer now based in France, is no stranger to the world of house. His throwback to the classic, soulful sounds of vintage house music have always been a hallmark of his productions, and the up-and-coming artist even has his own label: Brilliant Cut Media. Now Diamond Dealer is set to expand on his name with the release of “Under The Lights.” This unique track features the vocal talents of Sydney James Harcourt–vocalist and Broadway actor–whose impassioned lyrics guide the feel of the track. Diamond Dealer pairs some vintage piano chords with deep, atmospheric synth work. The synth arrangement, paired with the passionate vocals and a bright lead, create a melodic soundscape that is equal parts unconventional and uplifting. This type of vocal-centric, throwback sound is not heard too much these days, but Diamond Dealer makes it work in this production.
