John Dahlback – The Trip EP [Dim Mak]

It seems as though every time I go hunting for new releases I find something new (and excellent) from Swedish producer John Dahlback. In only the last few months, he has released tracks on major labels Big Beat, Mixmash, Spinnin, Toolroom, and Doorn among others. He’s back yet again with a huge release, this time on Dim Mak. The title track, The Trip, is the essence of a banger. A true rave weapon, this high energy track is as festival ready as you can get. China Lake is a bit more melodic, and infuses the big room progressive and electro style. Jackal Mackson is a return to the classic Dahlback style, and is more centered around the groove of the track. All in all, this is one great EP and I can’t wait to start hearing some of these tracks played out.
