Here’s some good news for Rusko fans – the dubstep don has decided that he will be giving away all of his forthcoming tunes for free. This comes after the news that he is set to release a free EP on November 4th, titled Kapow. In a recent statement on the subject, he said:
“It’s about promotion and not profit – I want to give the fans the music in real time. If they can help me promote it too then it’s essentially what a label does anyway but just without copyright restrictions… I just want everyone to be able have my music if they want it.”
It is no surprise that he did not want to renew his contract with Mad Decent after he and the label had a falling out surrounding the release of his last album, Songs, calling them “f*cking useless numbskulls.”
