EDX – Touched (Preview) [Toolroom Records]

EDX, the progressive house icon and one of the most consistent producers on the scene today, has done it again. The track record of EDX–producer, remixer, DJ, and label owner–is astonishing. He ‘s coming off the absolutely massive releaseMiami Device” (Spinnin’ Records, 2012), an explosive track which saw EDX collaborate with Stan Kolev and Chris Reece. He was also responsible for the anthemic club hit “This Is Your Life” (S2 Records, 2012) featuring the vocal talents of Nadia Ali. Add all this to the fact that he runs his own label, PinkStar Records, and you have one of the most diligent and hard-working artists in the business. Never content to rest on his laurels, the talented Italian producer has brought out all the stops for his upcoming release, “Touched,” which will be released off of Mark Knight’s Toolroom Records.

The start of the preview clip shows us a light and airy intro featuring soft leads and reverbed percussion, before EDX quickly brings the feel up to a more energetic one. Hard-edged synth chords pulsate in rhythm, painting a picture of the energetic drop that is to come. Before the track can begin the build-up, the preview sadly ends. Still though, from hearing just 44 seconds of the preview (give or take), it seems that EDX has another hit on his hands. The synth work sounds as masterful as ever, and the overall sound of the track is one that progressive house heads will highly enjoy.

EDX has not given a strict release date for “Touched,” only saying that it will be coming sometime in the fall of 2012. Still every house head and clubgoer alike should be psyched for EDX’s upcoming release. After all, when it comes to anthemic, melodic, progressive house, EDX is the man for the job. Check back at YourEDM for continued coverage of what is sure to be a massive release this season.
