Death Grips is back! Thanks to the recent adult swim singles giveaway, I’ve been fortunate enough to have a taste of possibly the most experimental angry punk rap group on the scene today. The new track, titled @deathgripz, keeps up with the dark and heavy sound that Death Grips is known to produce. The jumpy and bass-heavy choruses and breaks gets balanced with some vocals that are surprisingly less angry. Not to say that Stefan Burnett has lost his distinctive hoarse yell, but he’s demonstrated a good bit of versatility with this track. Coming off of their last album, “The Money Store,” @deathgripz seems to be a slight, but good shift for this unique group.
