Two iconic stars meet again as Madonna and Avicii will be sharing the stage once more as he will be the opener for the pop queen’s two night concert at the Yankee Standium (September 6th/7th). This will not be the first time an EDM artist opens for the touring star as both Alesso and Martin Solveig joined Madonna during her tour earlier during the year. This will also be the second time that Avicii and Madonna will be playing together after this year’s highly publicized Ultra event where Madonna in turn opened for the Swedish star’s headlining set at the Miami festival.
Tim Bergling, more famously known as Avicii had this to say about the ordeal:
“She showed up and supported us, and this is my way of showing up and supporting her.”
This announcement only further showcases how popular the young Swedish artist has become as he is also nominated for the VMAs tonight under the category of Best Electronic Dance Music Video for his Levels’ official video.
